It doesn’t get more central than this. Marienplatz is right in the middle of Munich, where people meet, admire the famous carillon, and start their tour of the city. It takes about 18 minutes to get there by public transport.

Beautiful grounds with their own lake. In the middle of it all, the Olympic Stadium, one of Munich’s most spectacular buildings, is also a venue for concerts and sporting events. It takes about 30 minutes to get there by public transport.

English Garden & Eisbach

The English Garden is worth a walk surrounded by greenery. A highlight in the south is the Eisbach wave right next to the Haus der Kunst, which attracts surfers at all times of the day and night. Can be reached by public transport in about 20 minutes.

A green oasis awaits just a few minutes away by public transport. The Ostpark with its Ostpark Lake is not only incredibly idyllic – it also beckons with a cosy beer garden right by the sparkling water.

The counterpart to the Ostpark in the west of Munich is the Westpark. Here, not only a beautiful oasis awaits, but also Asian culture: A Thai sala, a Chinese garden and a Nepalese pagoda promise vacation feelings. Reachable by subway in 30 min.

Schwabing

No other neighborhood is so characterized by literature, art and bohemia. Writers like Erich Mühsam, Stefan George and Frank Wedekind and painters like Paul Klee, the couple Gabriele Münter and Wassily Kandinsky and the poet Rainer Maria Rilke lived and worked here. It is 25 minutes to Münchner Freiheit.
