The exhibition series “The Bodies that Speak” shows works by the artist collective Avazê Xor from Kurdistan. The collective deals with sexualized violence and oppression in patriarchal systems. With the means of conceptual nude photography and FX make-up art, the artists turn against violent norms and taboos: in acts of self-empowerment, ideas of liberation become possible.
